Description
The Wagners come from a long line of grape growers and winemakers, with a history in Napa Valley dating back to the 1850s. Through the years, they have embraced a hands-on work ethic and are constantly looking for ways to keep improving the quality of their wines. Its been over forty five years since Chuck Wagner, along with his parents, Charlie and Lorna Wagner, founded Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford, Napa Valley. Bonanza by Chuck Wager is a reflection of the bonanza of the great state of California with the ongoing exploration and discovery of land where Cabernet can be farmed successfully. Medium ruby-red, this wine opens with scents of currants and dried roses, grape pomace, and freshly tilled soil. The nose is nuanced with toasty oak imparting a subtle smoked meat character. Flavors of blueberries and blackberries mix with the warmth of vanilla and toasted bread. Silky tannins and striking smoothness. Pair with grilled filet mignon with peppercorn sauce or eggplant ragout. Aged Vermont Cheddar is an excellent pairing. .
